About Az

Az is a 28 year old writer. Is he ‘emerging’? He doesn’t really know anymore. He's trans masc, a wheelchair user, and he hates corriander. He writes both fiction and non-fiction, and his writing is always informed by lived experience. He hasn’t written a book length work (yet—knock on wood), but his shorter pieces have appeared in publications like Overland, The Mascara Review, and Archer.Az is currently completing a Masters of Literature, and was one of the 2023 Regional Storytellers for the ABC. He recently became the facilitator of the CDAH Writers peer group at Community Disability Alliance Hunter.When he isnt writing, he's wandering around with his DSLR camera, working out, and/or obsessively doting on his very awesome dog, Ari. He also enjoys travelling in his caravan—although the Porta-Potti, not so much.
